Junction Media is proud to announce it has been appointed by the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists Trust Fund (MFPATF) as PR consultants for its 2018 Unique Arts Awards.
Now in their third year, the awards recognise artistic excellence among disabled young people between the ages of 7 and 21 from across the UK. The finalists will receive their award at a glittering ceremony to be held in Central London, in October.
Entries for the 2018 awards are open from 20th February to 20th June and Junction Media will be launching a targetted national PR campaign that aims to reach as many young disabled artists, as possible, as well as their parents, guardians, schools and teachers.
The chairman of the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists Trust Fund, Tom Yendell, is himself an internationally renowned disabled artist. Tom was born without arms after his mother took the drug Thalidomide in the early 1960s while pregnant with Tom. Based in Holybourne near Alton in Hampshire, Tom appointed Junction Media following two years with a large London-based PR consultancy. His decision was based on Junction Media’s profile, strong editorial credentials, locality and its ability to create and deliver a campaign that would specifically target, media, journalists and editors with education and diversity briefs.
The Unique Arts Awards are divided into five categories of: painter, photographer, 3D sculptor, digital artist and musician. The theme across all categories is ‘My World’. There are two age groups in each category – 7 to 15 years and 16 to 21 years. There are three overall awards, Bronze, Silver and Gold, and a special award for excellence recognises the teacher judged to have gone the ‘extra mile’ while teaching art, music or drama to young people with disabilities.
The overall winner will receive £600 in Great Art vouchers and £3,000 for their school or college art department. There will be three finalists in each age group category. Each finalist will receive a certificate and a £50 Great Art voucher, or category related equivalent. The arts teacher of the year will receive £2,000 in Great Art vouchers.
As a small local agency we are delighted to have been appointed to represent these unique national awards. We are very much looking forward to working with Tom Yendell and his team at MFPATF.
